Formatting.
Once your book is written and edited, it’s time for formatting. That means putting the text into a format readers can use (and enjoy using). Most authors sell ebooks and print books (paperbacks and hardcovers). If your manuscript is ready to go, contact me for a free quote!
Ebook Formatting
I build ebooks from scratch, which allows me to customize the design to a far greater extent than tools like Vellum will allow. You’ll receive an EPUB that’s ready to be uploaded anywhere, including KDP, Draft2Digital, and BookFunnel.
Print Formatting
I format paperbacks and hardcovers with Adobe InDesign, the same program that traditional publishers use to lay out their own books. You’ll receive a PDF that’s ready to be uploaded anywhere, including KDP, IngramSpark, and Lulu.
Pricing.
These prices are for basic, text-heavy novels. If your book is over 200,000 words or it contains tables, images, LitRPG system prompts, etc., please contact me for a free quote.
Everyone loves discounts. Even better are discounts that stack. Save 10% by bundling ebook and print. Save another 10% on subsequent books in the same series. Save 20% by bundling a format with an editing service. That’s a maximum discount of a whopping 40% off the formatting price!

Portfolio.
Here are some handpicked examples of my formatting work: a mix of title pages, chapter pages, scene breaks, and system prompts for LitRPG. These are the print versions, but the ebook versions all look very much the same.
Formatting FAQ.
Do you format non-fiction?
As a general rule, I only format fiction (i.e., novels). However, if you have a non-fiction book that is very text heavy, with few or no images, no tables, etc., then yes, I can most likely format it.
Can I edit my files after you've completed the formatting?
It depends. If you’re comfortable with HTML coding, you can edit the EPUB file yourself. Unfortunately, the print PDF file cannot be edited. If you have access to Adobe InDesign, I can give you the INDD source file at no extra charge. Message me and ask!
I found a typo in my formatted book. Can you fix it?
Something about a properly formatted book always brings out those final, sneaky typos that slip through the editing process. For this reason, the first round of 25 content edits is free. These edits can be corrections or stylistic changes, but they cannot be extensive. A word here, a piece of punctuation there. Additional content edits are $1 each. A $50 minimum applies to subsequent rounds of content edits.
What do you need to complete the formatting?
I will need (1) your complete manuscript, with front and back matter, in Microsoft Word format; (2) your ebook cover in high-res JPG; and (3) the trim size for your print book. The following are optional: (1) your cover typography in high-res PNG; (2) your ISBNs for the copyright pages and metadata; (3) fonts for your chapter headers (fonts must be free for commercial use, or you must have a license to embed them in ebooks).
What if I don't have a copyright page?
No problem. I can make one for you.
What does it cost to get both paperback and hardcover?
If the paperback and hardcover use the same trim size, then there is no extra charge; you can use the same PDF file for both. If your hardcover and paperback happen to use different trim sizes, the hardcover is 50% off.
Do you make images?
I’m not a graphic designer, but I can make very simple images, like the cat’s paws in Dean Henegar’s Cat Core or the star in Dean Henegar’s War Core (see my portfolio above). Most of the time, authors supply me with their own images. If you’d like to include images in your book, such as on the chapter pages, send me a message and we can discuss it!
Free quote.

If you don’t want to attach a file here, that’s okay; you can just send me a message or email me directly. In your message, let me know if you are interested in ebook formatting, print formatting, or both.
